Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., a proud supporter of the TELACU Education Foundation, is serving as presenting sponsor of the organization’s annual scholarship awards dinner for the second consecutive year. This important partnership is part of Toyota’s commitment to community, diversity, education, environmental programs and safety.

“A new generation of Latino leaders is being empowered through higher education, thanks to the partnership between TELACU and Toyota,” said TELACU Education Foundation Chairman David C. Lizárraga. “We’re grateful for their generous support.”

The Toyota/TELACU Scholarship Program is supporting 25 Latino undergraduate students at public and private colleges and universities in California during the 2007-08 academic year. With additional support from Toyota, 10 Latinos are studying business, education, engineering and public policy at graduate schools throughout the country as David C. Lizárraga Fellows. Also, in association with TELACU, more than 40 institutions of higher education provide matching funds to qualified students.

“We are absolutely committed to supporting programs that enrich people’s lives and offer the tools and training to help individuals achieve their full potential,” said Irv Miller, group vice president of corporate communications at TMS, and chair of TELACU’s 25th Annual Building the Dream Scholarship Awards Dinner. “Hispanics have been valued customers, associates, suppliers and shareholders of Toyota throughout its 51 years in the U.S.”
