Accounts Payable Clerk, TELACU Residential Management, Los Angeles

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Clerk processes and pays all vendor invoices for assigned senior housing projects under the management of TELACU Residential Management, Inc. (TRM) or TELACU Property Management, Inc. (TPM).

Essential Functions:

Reviews, codes, and posts invoices and cuts checks for assigned entities.
Research any non-payments to vendors.
Ensure cash reports are updated prior to issue the check to ensure enough cash is available.
Notify any irregularities to both the Controller and the TRM President.
Updates various spreadsheets, as necessary e.g. cash reports, utility list to setup auto pay, solar MASH spreadsheet, etc.
Schedules and processes online payments for all utilities and recurring vendors. 
Ensures timely closing processes (monthly, quarterly and year-end).
Researches old, stale dated checks and returned checks for void or replacement check.
Assists with fiscal year end audit, 1099 and 1096 distributions, etc.
Completes special projects as assigned by AP Supervisor and Accounting Manager. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.  Some college accounting courses preferred. Minimum two years experience in high volume accounts payable position; handling multiple entities required. Minimum two years “hands-on” experience with a mainframe accounting software, preferred or required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to work with multiple entity files; multi-tasked; prioritized and organized; detail oriented; hard working and focused; ability to work independently and in a team environment; excellent verbal and writing skills required. Ability to work overtime as needed. 

Physical Job Description:
