The College Success Program is funded by TELACU and the generous contributions of our Partners—corporations, foundations, colleges and universities, non-profit organizations, and individuals—who have joined us over the past 40+ years in advancing educational opportunities for our community.

Because TELACU believes that the future leaders of our community must be engaged in meaningful careers that will change the face of our world, our TELACU Scholar cohort in large part consists of young people majoring in the fields of STEAM and  Business. These fields of study are where our Scholars are able to most immediately find employment upon graduation and embark on long-lasting, high-impact careers.

More Than Just Financial Support

TELACU College Success Program

Faced with the new rigors of college life, the future leaders of our community need more than just financial support during their collegiate years. To help ensure that TELACU Scholars make the successful transition from high school to college and, ultimately, into the workplace, the Program integrates four inseparable components:

  • Financial Resources
  • Academic, Leadership, Personal, and Talent Development Seminars (Sessions)
  • College Advisement and Career Guidance with an Emphasis on STEAM & Business Disciplines and Workforce Preparation
  • Civic Engagement

This holistic approach ensures that TELACU Scholars are prepared to successfully navigate the college experience. Scholarships ease their financial stress, while comprehensive wraparound services and Sessions equip them with soft skills, and provide development opportunities, leadership training, and unwavering support critical to their future.

Additional elements of the College Success Program include:

  • One-on-One Guidance
  • Career Strategy Development
  • Financial Empowerment
  • Professional Development & Workforce Entry Preparation
  • Graduate School Preparation
  • Internship & Employment Opportunities
  • Mentoring
  • Parental Involvement

The TELACU Education Foundation reserves the right to make the final selection of Award recipients based upon, but not limited to, the criteria described in our application guidelines.
